WHAT I LIKE IS THE LARGE SELECTION OF SIZES, WHAT I DON'T LIKE ARE POOR BEVEL ON THE NOSE SO THEY DON'T FIND CENTER OF THE HOLE WELL, STICKY OPERATION AND QUALITY. THESE WORK AND FOR WHAT I PAID THEY'RE OKAY ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THEIR COST, BUT I HAVE OWNED OTHERS IN THE PAST THAT WERE MUCH BETTER IN ALL THE AREAS I HAVE MENTIONED JUST THEY COST AN ARM AND A LEG.I'M REVISING MY REVIEW. I HADN'T TRIED TO USE THESE WHEN I WROTE THE FIRST REVIEW. IT WAS JUST OBSERVATIONS MADE WHEN I GOT THEM. WELL NOW I HAVE TRIED TO USE THEM AND THEY ARE JUNK. THEY CONSTANTLY STICK AND JAMB. ALSO THE SPRING LOADED GUIDE IS SO OFF SIZED FOR THE SIZE DRILL BIT THEY COULDN'T ALIGN IF THEY HAD TO. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THESE.

The drill bits are good but the outer bit housings are crudely tapered. They don't have sufficient taper in the small sizes, for wood screw sizes like 4-7 for small hinges. The taper is too large and they won't center in the small relief bevels on the hinge plates, at least for me they were not adequate. However, they are brass underneath that shiny chrome finish and can easily be filed or ground down to a finer taper. If inserted into a drill or lathe chuck and spun carefully, you can file or grind a custom taper to fit the project. The larger centering bits may work with big hinges but haven't tried them yet. Personally, I don't mind customizing my tools as needed but for some people this set is not going to work as manufactured. Price is very reasonable otherwise.

I made the mistake of ordering these and setting them aside until I needed them. Unfortunately, when I did need them I discovered that they were completely inadequate for the task. The construction is sub-par, and the springs used are all different. The bits are spring-loaded, but the springs are not consistent, and some don't retract enough to be useful. The sleeve that is supposed to center the bit in the hinge hole is too small and passes right through. I can't understand why they include two 9/64" bits instead of a 1/8" bit, which was the one size I actually needed.I should have inspected them much more closely when I received them. I would have returned them immediately.Don't waste your money on these. They are little more than complete garbage.

For the price I didn't expect much but they were a little better than I expected. The sliding sleeve is sloppy and hard to center on 5/64 one. That's the only one I have used but the others seem to be the same. Only bought these because I couldn't find a 5/64 here in town. It did what i needed it to do.

The smaller sizes, which I use more, seem to hit the sides of the centering part of the bit. Not great for the drill bit.

They look good the problem is that some don't work. The inner sliding sleeve hangs up, it will not slide up so the bit can cut. And It was not after repeated use, it happened on the first try. The sizes that worked did well.

Nice center drill bit set. Comes with a wide variety of bit sizes. No issues with using them to drill out some wood. They worked just like they should. Came with a nice storage case to keep them all together. Can't beat them for the price!

I’ve never been enough of a DIYer or into wood working enough to have a lot job specific tools. Special drill bits like this are nice to add some functionality to a simply cordless drill.
