This well designed firesteel offers feature not just to help light a fire but also to help with direction, signalling, cutting and measuring The features are as followed: 1) Firesteel- The firesteel itself is one of the nicest to hold with a nice thumb shaped dip moulded into the handle, not only that but paired with the sticker it creates one of the best showers of sparks out of any firesteel we stock. 2) Whistle- The striker handle also feature a whistle to help signal if your ever in need of help/rescue. 3) Compass- The firesteel handle has a button compass moulded into the under side to help with general direction for navigation. 4) Saw- The striker blades has one side with saw teeth cut in which for a small blade is surprisingly useful. 5) Ruler- The final feature is just simple a small ruler marked on the striker, a little feature that you never know when it will come in handy. The firesteel should last for approximately 12 000 strikes so you wont be needing a replacement anytime soon.

Great but whistle lets it down
Great fire steel, easy to get nice big Sparks and the compass is accurate but I took a star off because the whistle isn't very good. It works when you get the right position but it isn't that loud to begin with.

Faultless firelighter
Bought to fill an empty sleeve on the side of my bushcraft knife sheath, so the (well-made too!), striker/scraper part has been stored away in a spares tin. The ferro rod handle remains firmly affixed and even the compass works, so an impressive addition to my firelighting kit.

Decent fire steel for my fire kit
Nice chunky fire steel the rod itself is quite large and should last a while, liked the compass as it works well and is securely fitted onto the handle. Throws a good amount of sparks, the saw side of the striker could be used to strike the rod aswell which produces loades of sparks but cuts grooves into it so be careful!
