Nice, but some flaws
I really want to like this, but when you put a pen in the middle, it gets way too bulky. The leather is great and it looks wonderful. I just cannot use the internal pen location.

Design flaw
This is so pretty, but there is a huge design flaw. The pen loop... it is placed so that when there’s a pen in it it totally misshapes the product.

Doesn’t properly hold journal books
Because of how it’s constructed, the field notes (purchased separately) don’t actually fit in the flap very well. We eventually took off the cover to the journal in order to get it to fit, but it’s flimsy. I purchased this as “the perfect gift” and was seriously disappointed.

3x5 Index Card Holder
I have all of these 3x5 cards that I am using to memorize Bible verses. There are too many to keep shoved in my journal or my Bible--it's bad for the spines & makes it difficult to flip thru the pages. So I went looking for a case for them, and stumbled across this idea.Let me say: I am delighted with the outcome. The one problem I had initially was getting the cards in & out of the pockets--the leather is too "grippy" for that, and the pockets don't have a lot of give. Also, the leather oils tend to transfer onto the paper. So I cut these miniature "folders" myself out of a sheet of card stock. It's much easier to slip the cards in & out of these, and they shield the cards from the leather.Including the ones I slip into the folder with the hang tab, I can easily hold 35 cards with this rig (and I use the extra thick cards). If you're an analog person like me, I recommend this for holding & carrying your memorization cards (for whatever it is you're trying to memorize).

Nice Cover!
Really nice cover! Very sturdy leather (and it's REAL leather). Nicely stitched. Perfect cover for my Field Notes and for the other Field Book variety. I got the one with the internal pen loop so it will fit in my pocket. Loop seems sturdy. Internal pen loop will prevent you from carrying two Field Notes books, but that's okay and I knew this going in. Really nice quality! I'm impressed. Good value.
