Very pleased with this hat,It's well made with tough material, Has adjustable chin & head cords, can easily be folded flat into a rucksack ,the brim of the hat can be worn down ,but also can be tilted upwards.Originaly purchased for protection from the Scottish Highland "midge's" and sunshine.It has a moisture repellant , but IRe-treated with a heavy water repellant and eight hours of heavy rain in the Cairngorm mountainsIt was really good at keeping my head dry .Overall it's a fantastic hat .

First, it looks even better in person than in the pictures.This is a really, really good summer hat. I'm actually going to buy another one so I have one for days out and one for gardening. The brim is the perfect size in that it's just large enough to protect your neck and face from the sun, but not so large as to look ridiculous. It feels secure when on even in a stiff breeze and has to be the most breathable hat I've ever worn in my life. I still wore sun cream on my scalp as I wasn't prepared to risk its claims about UV protection so I can't comment on that, but with that said I can't sing its praises highly enough.

After many years of faithful use I lost my old hat and thus time for a new one.However, out on the first sunny day my head felt really hot just about as bad as not having one on and this one must have been designed by someone with a full head of hair.The area over your head is mesh and is transparent enough to see where you are going and thus offers absolutely no UV or any other kind of protection to the top of your head.Not a problem I guess if you have a full head of hair in which case the wide brim will protect your face and with the cord under your chin it will not blow away.

As a young guy, well endowed in the cranial department, I always struggled to find a fishing hat which did not seem out of place on the top of my head.I can only enthusiastically report that the hat fits my 60cm head very well and doesn't actually make me look too bad! A victory of substance over style!The hat is well built and seems like it will last.The hat also fits my dad - an even more impressive skull at 61.5cm.

I dont normally wear hats, but with the temperature regularly topping 30 degrees this summer, I though it was time to get some sun protection.I had been looking at the famous Tilley safari hats, but at £70, they are hugely overpriced compared to this Einskey, which does the same job.I also think this hat has superior breathability, with its large mesh panels each side.All the stitching was perfectly finished, and the adjustment fittings worked easily.Unlike the Tilley, this is a one size fits all(sort of).My hat size is a large 7 3/4, and this feels like the comfortable limit of this hat, at its fullest adjustment.Despite its wide brim, this hat folds neatly in half, into a surprisingly neat package.The under chin drawstrings, prevent any chance of losing this hat in a wind, as the wide brim does act like a kite at times.My only criticism is that at 100% polyester, cotton might be more comfortable, but this does give the Einskey shower resistance.

This hat comes folded in half along the centre line where it's stitched. That's how it wants to stay now, as it's a natural hinge. When worn it does flatten out after a while though.It's very adjustable, with two ways to reduce the brim size, an elasticated cord all the way around that can be easily changed from outside, and two flat cords on the inside that can be altered too. Being light and adjustable makes it very comfortable to wear. Having ventilation in the top should help stop getting to sweaty in the sun.However, the ventilation holes and top material are where it lets itself down, UV-wise. From the picture you can see that light goes straight through it (it's not even that sunny when I took the picture). I'm lucky to have plenty of hair that this shouldn't be a problem, but even I'm not overly convinced. Someone with short or no hair would probably burn.Similarly, being shower proof on the rim isn't much use if the top lets the water through the ventilation holes.Overall a nice, cheap hat but ignore the UV and water-resistant blurb.

This is a great breathable tropic weight hat. The brim is nice and wide which keeps the sun off my face and neck. Much better ventilation than the standard Boonie hat. Size adjustment is via a draw cord at the base of the crown which should accommodate most sizes (I'm a size 58).
