Similar stems are either going for a lot more money or are not available at all. I took a chance with these after reading many of the reviews, and I'm very happy I did!They arrived in a rectangular Amazon box, and they were inside a thin, clear bag. So, they could have been bent on the tips as other mentioned, but most were not. Likely, the company selling these would have to charge a lot more money for them if they sent them to amazon in more protective packaging. I carefully removed them from the thin bag and plastic wrap. Next, I headed to my DRY bathtub and used a blow dryer on medium heat, low power, and waved the dryer over them, two pieces at a time. It takes just a few second of back and forth motion for them to become unmatted and more fluffy. Just a bit of feathery stuff blew off -- no big deal. The few tips that were slightly kinked I simply pinched off with my fingers! You could cut them off, too, and then just rub the new tip between your fingers to pull the feathery pieces part. Easy-peasy.These dry stems are a STEAL, the color is light and bright, and they look fabulous if you simply take a bit of time to style them. I mean, a faux Christmas tree doesn't look too hot straight out of its box, right? Also, please note the terra cotta container I placed these in have a bit of crumbled paper stuffed down inside it so these stems sit up higher -- they are not as long as they seem in the photos.

I followed the directions on the box about laying them in direct sunlight. Which did make them fluffy. The pompas are smaller than I was expecting but still was able to be useful.

If you’re thinking about getting these - do it! They are so pretty and you get a lot of them for the price. They also came in a huge box so they weren’t bent or smashed. I laid them in the sun and they fluffed up like other reviews said. I was surprised to see they were smaller than the ones you would get at Crate and Barrel or other stores like that, but I just put paper in the bottom of my base to make them appear longer! Very happy with this purchase.

I put them outside but they didn’t open up much .

So cute for vases!!! I really love it sm. Especially paired with brown as I did in the photo. A little pricy but super cute. BTW when you first get it out of the package it will shed ALOT but only when you touch it. I dusted it off a bit before putting it in the vase and I’m just not gonna touch it since it is pretty sheddy.

I got these to use in random arrangements around my home. It’s now been at least a year since I bought them and they’re still holding up! It took this long for the feathers to become slightly discolored but I’ve moved them around to different places often and I still like them! Compared to pampas stems I’ve gotten at a local boutique, these are MUCH smaller but work well as filler or by itself.

These were very similar to what was shown in the picture. I shopped around and thought this was the best deal. I did not get 30 stems, only 28. I saw several other reviews mentioning the same thing so I think that’s an area for improvement.

This product sheds a lot! Item description recommended fluffing with a blow dryer, which resulted in grassy fluff all over the room! I immediately stopped and placed them on the vase. They look fine but not as big and full as I’d hoped for.
