Q: Has any one else noticed that the Gerber meat Purees 2nd Foods have a slightly different consistency this month, slightly more gelatinous?

The consistency is so thick I have to add water to it. Otherwise it is stiffer than glue paste. Has white lumps in it. Cornstarch? I've been using this as a treat for my cats for years. They used to love it. Now only 2 of 4 will eat it. I'm devastated by the change. I'm going to have to find something else for them if it stays like this. I can't imagine feeding this to a baby.

Q: I have also experience the dried out grainy chicken and a whole case of beef? What is the story? Don't want to keep getting a few or all bad jars.

I get mine on subscribe and save (4 10 packs) and the last four times I have had at LEAST 3 jars broken when I opened the box. They are NOT wrapped in bubble wrap like they used to be so therefore I am short 3-5 jars and have to pay a ridiculous amount for them at a local store. They need to pack them better and mark them as fragile. I am due to get my next order on 8/24, HOPEFULLY with no broken jars.

Great question! Our 2nd Foods Chicken & Gravy does not contain garlic or onion.

Q: What is the shelf life of this baby food?

From what I've read it's about a 2 year shelf life unopened and once you've opened the jar it should be refrigerated ASAP (no more than 2 hours) and should be discarded after 24 hours in the fridge

Very Good for cats as well as babies

This is for my adult cat and she loves it. The Vet suggested it because she has a crooked jaw and can’t chew. It’s giving her the calories she needs to stay alive.

Food not just for babies

I don't have babies, but I do have a senior baby cat, 17 years old. I guess he's a geriatric cat. And now he can only eat certain things which don't cause havoc with his teeth. My friend feeds her cat baby food and suggested it so I thought why not. Well, he sniffed it at first and then dived in. So far he has enjoyed these little jars. I feed him other things but this is like his dessert. So far it has helped a lot.

Bulk pricing is nice for these so it helped us save quite a bit. Same quality and standard we are used to with buying it from the store. Just better pricing here.

Packaging problem

The food was good, as usual but better packaging is needed. One jar was broken with shards sticking up. I stuck myself but, fortunately, did not get cut.
