Anyone need to axe me a question? ;D
Out of the box - beautiful. The rugged kind of beauty you'd expect. The head is hammered to finish with what looks like a ground polish down to a sharpened edge. Noted on the edge of this blade is a small Nick in the edge, something I think will disappear with is and sharpening. The wooden handle is gorgeous and built ergonomically perfectly for the tasks suited to this hatchet. The leather sheath is also superb, it smells of real leather and is built with an interesting design. It does allow you to slide a belt through to holster the sheath, though it may be unpractical and difficult to deholster.Overall, A+ product. Watch for shipping, I believe that is what happened to mine.

Excellent detail carving axe/hatchet
I had my eye on this for some time. I wanted a small carving axe that gave me as much control as possible as an intermediate step between roughing out with a larger hatchet, and knife carving. This for the bill perfectly. The short handle and light head allow significantly more control than just choking up on the handle of a larger hatchet. This hatchet would be frustrating and exhausting to use to rough out spoons and bowls from logs and limbs, but it can’t be beat for refining roughed our blanks prior to knife work. The quality is excellent and the edge came razor sharp and with an excellent bevel for carving.

Spoon carving axe
This is a beautiful little carving axe. It is very small and easy to manage while making spoons. The bevel is perfect for very refined work and stout enough for roughing. Good overall tool for wood carving. Handle is beautiful. I card scraped the warning label off. I think going forward maybe just put a tag on people can remove instead. Had to redo the oil finish on that side afterwards. A final note, at the top of the bit's edge there is a 2 milimeter defect and the bit has a slight twist. These are both minor enough to keep me from returning the axe but big enough to reduce to four stars. With this price point I'd expect those items to be the best of the axe.

Fills a much needed nich!
I have had several Gransfors and other axes but never had a Hults.. I debated this Hults Bruk Jonaker Hatchet for a very long time before I puled the pin. I wish I had ordered it sooner. Unlike the Wild Life which I found too light for the length of handle this hatchet is it absolutely perfect for bush craft and fire prep. This is NOT a toy hatchet. Because of the perfect balance between the hickory handle and the forged head it has quickly become one of my favorites. Would I choose it to cut down a large tree? Of course not. Neither would I try to use my Forest ax to prepare kindling.I find it useful for everything from shaving feather sticks to dressing small game rather than a knife. Don't be fooled by by the looks in the picture. It is quite sturdy Do not hesitate to get this one.Semper FiMike

I like it, however
Swedish made Hults Bruk Jonaker hatchet. I like it, however, for the price that Hults Bruk is getting for this hatchet you would think that they would do a better foundry clean up for a finished product. So, I paid $124.00 for a Swedish piece of steel and a hickory stick. I think they could do better. However, I gave it 4/5 for this reason. Had the head been cleaned up and buffed out. Yeah 5 stars for sure. On a more positive note. The head was seated properly, no problems there. Sheath is well made thick oiled leather, a plus there.

Versatile Field Tool
Nice hatchet. What I would expect from Hults Bruk. Don't expect much swinging leverage with the small handle, but it's a great field tool that is very versatile and lighter than expected.

Old world tool, made right
just a fantastic little hand axe. I also on the very nearly identical GB hand axe. I like the GB is a little better for esthetic reasons. But that is subjective. This is a great axe.

I love this little hatchet!
I lost my original Hults Bruk Jonaker Hatchet and can not live without it. I had to order a new one, and am happy once again. It stays SHARP!
