Down to earth language book

Born in South Africa and raised with Portuguese parents, I was taught the broken or slang kinda Portuguese. This book definitely helps with the pronunciation and correct words of Portuguese and not English word been converted to Portuguese.I will definitely be keeping this book and hopefully teach my son to speak Portuguese or at least learn the basics..

This is a book of basic Portuguese grammar, but it's not a user friendly guide for learning how to speak the language quickly.There are no lists of vocabulary relating to themed topics that usually feature in these teach yourself books, e.g. eating out, staying in a hotel, shopping etc and even the grammar is not really set out very clearly.

This is an excellent book for the money,,if you genuinely want to learn the language and how the words are formed,this book gives you your first real steps in that direction,def a must have.

I've been learning a lot with this book and it's all the basics in one place! Would love an audio track with this, I would make it one of THE best language books out there!

Not an easy layout for beginners . A few interesting facts which make words memorable but not recommended for beginners to Portuguese language

A self publisher with odd use of capital lettersAnd silly mistakes like p20 when St Martin names days of week in 568BC !!However, the lists are helpfulWith a good publishing house and editing/rewriting it could have been much better
