Good value for price,very happy with this purchase.

I have several sets of black metal bookends. 3 are 7" and 2 are 9". ALL have a heavier gauge steel than the MMF 9" bookends. I used my calipers to measure the thickness of the MMF 9" bookends and they are 0.03" thick. My older set of 9" bookends are 0.05" thick. Unfortunately, my older 9" set, which still looks like new, was given to me as a gift 7 years ago and I don't even know if they make them anymore or where to buy them.The MMF 9" which are 0.03" thick are wafer thin. Would you believe the MMF 9" bookends are made in the USA?! The quality is truly pathetic. I purchased the MMF 9" because the description states: "Durable heavy-gauge steel construction" at least FOUR (4) times. This is completely misleading. It is NOT heavy-gauge steel construction. If it was any thinner, it would disappear. The problem with buying things over the 'Net is you can't see the product for yourself. I didn't want to drive just to buy some bookends so I purchased these which are not cheap. I made a substantial Amazon order and I included these MMF's with it.I am currently looking at other bookends. The problem is you don't know how thick or what quality they are until they are delivered. I may return the MMF's and purchase the Officemate Bookends, 9 Inches, Non-Skid Base, Black, Pair (93051).It's hard to believe it is so much trouble just to buy a set of 9" bookends which have equal sides metal, end stubs, and foam (not rubber) underneath.

it is not quite strong, so at the beginning a little patience is needed to place books with them. but when this is done, the bookends work with no problem. now my desk look much more organized with them! for the price I bought them, under 6 bucks, it is a bargain.
