It is batterys but has a dc 5v socket like a phone charger small slightly squashed oval shape, with a wire for connecting to laptop or plug.

No white noise but does have heartbeat, nature sounds and lullabies you can loop the lullabies - the volume comes on loud then dulls the music stops within 15mins and the projection carries on for a few more moments good bit of kit for the price quite impressed

Hi, hopefully this explanation answers your question and lots more. The short answer is yes because the light is on all the time. Only the music is triggered by sound but the sound can be switched off separately. When you switch the cube on using the on/off yellow light bulb shaped button only the light comes on ie there is no sound. The light stays on all the time so can be used with or without any sound. The sound can be switched on separately with the green musical note shaped button and the volume changed 1- 5 levels. The music/sounds stop after about 30 minutes and you can select different songs/sounds. Only the sound is triggered by a noise though, the light is on all the time. So if you press music button AND the red cry button then the music ONLY comes on from a sound eg baby crying. It plays for 30 minutes and stops. Remember the light is on all the time anyway with or without music and you choose if the music is off or on (30 minute timer) or only starts playing from a baby crying. You can also play your own music through the cube speaker eg from a phone, CD player. It also works from batteries so it's great to carry around in a travel bag. You can also connect to a USB charger to save batteries. The cube comes with a set of new batteries, a USB lead (to connect to your own phone type charger) and the mini jack headphone type (8mm) lead to connect an outside music source with 8mm size audio out.

Colourful to look at & well priced

This is a really lovely cube. It has 3different projector pictures to swop & change.I have it sat on a set of draws which gives it a clearer picture It has a selection on music or white noise. Its easy to use & our little one who is 21 months loves it well apart from the heat beat one he is scared of that one & the dog's even bark at that one but rest is really good. I would buy again & I would recommend

Received it broken!!

I am deeply saddened by this projector as i discovered it was broken when opened. I got this as a birth present for a very close friend and only opened it as she wanted to see it over FaceTime so if I had never opened it she would have received it broken! Very disappointed as it had a lot of potential; nice volume, bright lights and tuneful nursery rhymes. I would like a refund because I did not pay for a broken present.

Crap! Firstly there's no writing to tell you how it works and what buttons do what! And most people buying this probably have a small baby and don't have the time to figure this crap out!! Also after only a few weeks of owning this the volume control adjusts itself to full volume 😡, the sound doesn't stay on for 30mins before shutting off- it's more like 5 minutes so you have to keep turning it back on and also if you accidentally switch the lights on they won't switch off so have to cover it with blanket. Save your money and don't buy this unless you do only need it for a matter of weeks.
