Q: I have fitted as per instructions but the two rear pads do not touch the rim by 3-4mm causing the seat to bend when sat on. Design fault?

Mine fitted perfectly. Like most seats had to move the mountings round a bit to get cental but it was fine. Very happy with it.

Q: Does anyone know if this will fit a vitra s50 toilet?

It all depends on what you class as fit. It does fit, but there’s two issues. Firstly the screws provided to secure the seat fixings are too long. If you use these with force it could crack the toilet! I had to cut the screws down which was tiresome. Secondly the seats internal shape isn’t D-shaped like the pan- it’s round, so it exposes the back of the toilet bowl which doesn’t look great. Overall for the price it’s ok and looks good, but after fitting I did have some regret in not just buying the Vitra seat for £60.

Q: Is it cold to sit upon

It’s plastic, so its temperature is determined by your heating. If your bathroom is warm, the seat will be warm, if it’s cold, the seat will be too. Having said that, it doesn’t take very long to warm up when sat upon.

Q: Are the seat holes wide enough to fit over existing bolts about 1cm (10mm) in diameter? I'm unable to remove/replace them.

The seat bolts are less than 1 cm wide.
