Solid bit of kit. Works well.
This works perfectly with Forscan (availabke separately from the website). Setup instructions included if required. Read every module on my car and enabled me to access all available options. We'll worth the money. Good quality bit of kit.

Great product
Very happy with the vLinker adapter. The product is recommended by FORScan for use with their software. The product was straightforward to connect and there were no problems running the FORScan software with it. Automatically switches the connection speed when required rather than having a manual switch like some products, making it very easy to use.

limited car models
I am sort of puzzled. This OBD in the cars was invented some time ago for diagnosing cars, mainly for faults in the new exhaust regulating system of that time. A standard supposed to be used so anyone could read and identify error codes in the car fuel and exhaust system, plus some more. But since then, thats no real STANDARD, its only something like a standard. Only very basic data can be read by most of them, but not all data, because the manufacturers used wild their own extensions. So for different car manufacturers it may need different OBD II devices. Thats for sure no standard. It can be worst, as here shown.I was hoping when seeing this device that I get an OBD plug for the car and USB C for a laptop. There we go (or are stuck here), because the pins from OBD to USB are not simply one to one, there is electronic between. The software on the USB side needs to tell the plug which OBD pin it wants to read ...A good plug would do now exactly only that, allowing any software to read any value on any OBD pin. Not more and not not less. But that means, that this electroni is also a standard ...Then the interpretation of the readings is the job of the software in the laptop.I have different normal handheld OBD readers, for VW, or Chevrolet - Opel/Vauxhall/Daewoo ..., etc. They do NOT always work on other cars, because their internal data interpretation is not identical. But this plugs should be, just collectiong data, or returning some for programming. But for some unknown reason I do not believe that this plug is universal. Its linked too much to Ford models and software for Ford (Forscan) ... Their website does not mention other cars except Mazda, which may use Ford components.Assumed my laptop has VW suitable software, would the plug work and transfer ALL VW data to my laptop? If it would, why is that not mentioned? I guess, it cant, its a device limited to FORSCAN purposes, Ford only.If I had to pay for it and have no Ford/Mazda model mentioned, I would not buy it. So investigate on your own.I know nobody with a Ford, so cant test it deeper right now.

One that actually works
After trying various obd2 adapters I've finally found one that allows you to alter ECU peramiters with the full licence version of forscan. Up to now I've only altered the tyre size to make the Speedo read accurate & told the ECU I have replaced the battery & put in the AH capacity of my new battery but it allows you to so much more. Definitely worth the money

Works perfectly (Mk4 Mondeo 2009)
Saved hundreds in garage costs. Easy to use and easy to follow setup instructions.Used with ForScan to clear engine management light, which was DPF related. Then performed static DPF regen.Everything back to normal and all for a £30 cable.Much recommended
