Let's do Mental Maths for ages 5-6: For children learning at home

Really successfully used with a little girl who had lost all confidence in maths. Loads of repetition, plenty of stickers, it works a treat!

Very good practice book

I have a 5 year old who loves little maths questions. I also wasn't sure what to do with him while I sat with his older sister trying to complete her homework every weekend. Instead of watching tv and making her jealous he now sits at the table with us and loves the satisfaction of completing one of these excellent tests. They are nicely balanced so that he needs to utilise his literacy to understand the basic questions and the maths questions are varied, interesting and very very slowly increase in difficulty building on styles they introduce earlier on. I have now also bought the book for my older daughter and they have competitions as to who can complete the tests fastest and get the most right!
