Love it

Arrived quickly and packaged well. This thing is huge and heavy but so awesome. The details are great and it looks great on my wall. Doesn't feel like full tang but does feel sturdy enough to swing around.

Good Steel, but Plastic Handle

This just came in the mail today, and I am mostly happy with it.The handle material is definitely not what they advertise it to be. Mine just has a hard plastic handle. You can see the seems down the front and back where the 2 pieces of the handle are fastened together over the tang. There is no metal on the handle either, it is just plastic that is painted to look like it is leather with a brass leaf design. As far as the plastic goes, it seems to be a very sturdy plastic, just really not what I expected from the description that was given saying that the handle was simulated leather with brass wrap.

Big, Beautiful, Balanced

Love this sword, and it is definitely the biggest and heaviest LOTR replica that I have handled. Despite this size it has a nice balance and overall symmetry. The grip itself is almost the exact length of my arm (I am 5'11) to give you a sense of the size. It is a true two-hander and if you have any bo-stick training you will quickly be adapting those forms to this lovely sword. 199.99 is an excellent price and the collectors value will probably never fall below that as these swords get bought up and eventually run out of stock. Consider the other elvish sword of Arwen which is listing for $600 new and $199 really starts looking like a steal. Stop waiting, get this lovely sword while you can before it turns into a true collectors item!

Of all the movie prop swords, this feels real

(In the First Age: The Elves who were of five tribes, the High Elves being the Noldor whose King was Thingol. Three great jewels, the Silmarils like no others were alive, of pure radiance and were created by Feanor of the First born Noldor Elves, in Heaven. They were closely guarded by his father Finwe, but the first and greatest angel Melkor desired them, killed Finwe, and fled to Middle-Earth to his Fortress Angband having them set in his crown. Feanor swore an oath to take them back, issued a summons, and led a great host to Middle-Earth. High Elves denotes the main tribe of the five who left heaven for Middle-Earth. Legolas is Sindarin, Elrond is Noldor [but not first born being only six-thousand years old], Galadriel is both Noldor and Teleri.)Though heavy the weight is not a disadvantage with its long two handed hilt. You could easily drive the scimitar type blade through almost anything, if sharp. You can easily see the Far Eastern influence on this design. There is a very wicked trick that can be used with this sword, though it has a short blade. As you swing forward with both hands, release the front hand allowing the sword to over-extend pushing forward with your rear hand, its an old Kendo trick. Looking at the top of the sword you can see a long, slight and graceful curve; a lot of attention was given to make this very different from the swords of men. The other swords hang on the wall this sets on a stand-it will draw the most attention of your collection. The leather is very smooth and dark, and the brass inlay is of a spiraling vine, flush, not uneven, raised or low in places, due to the tightness of the leather. Because of the very long handle it has a good balance and you don't notice the weight. The pommel is flaired to make sure you don't have the handle slip out of your hand. The blade is shorter at 24" but as you saw in the opening of the "Fellowship of The Ring" very efficient. Its the most beautifully crafted, and one of the rarest {not many made} and most sought after of the LOTR Swords-I've seen this sword for $1000, and it was the last one offered. Keep watching on amazon-they show up for $399.99. Those maniacs at ebay get twice the price up to $1000; get two, keep one make a profit on the other. And it goes well with the Elven Helm and Shield. Three times a charm!

Great blade replica wallmount pegs are trash :(

Very happy with the replica blade very sturdy haha I did have to give it a few swings in the air :) it has a nice weight no toy. The wallmounts they give you are a joke. The pegs that you screw in spilt and I didn't screw them that much. Besides the wallmount I'm very happy with the blade.

Authentic and awesome

Waited 9 years to buy this. I feared they were all gone from the market (in terms of authentic replicas) but I could not be happier. The grip IS metal, it just is painted for the grip. No rattle. Wall mount is missing slots for screws on the back, not sure what is up with that.Well worth the wait.

I like it and is made very well! Would be 5 stars but the "wood" on hilt of sword looks really fake and red

Excellent addition to my collection

I bought this sword from United awhile back for a cheap price when they were still making them, now I'm glad to get mine when I did after seeing the price go up since they stopped making them. The wooden plate holder is elegant and is in excellent quality.
