Buy something else.
Worked pretty well the first time. That was all though.Every other time there is a bit of a flicker & then the screen goes dead.Expensive paperweight.

Good solution if you don't have an HDMI output
I've got a great, but older HP elitebook, I wanted to use this with an external monitor to enable me to use dual monitors and so that I have a bigger screen for editing big spreadsheets and similar things. Unfortunately my elitebook doesn't have an HDMI output, instead it has a 'DisplayPort' which was the flavour of the month at the time the laptop was designed. However as I'm sure most people will know these days 'HDMI' tends to be the default output on laptops for connecting to monitors. As such I was unable to get my two pieces of kit working together despite them both being HP branded I should add. Until that is I came across this little adaptor. When you get the adaptor out of the box it looks pretty underwhelming, a plug on one end of about 6" of cable and a socket on the other end. But ultimately its all about what it does and this is where it wins out. The plug goes into your laptop's DisplayPort, then your HDMI cable goes into the socket on the other end. There is no configuration needed (at least with Win10) the monitor is identified by windows immediately and initially will go into 'monitor' duplication mode. This basically displays the same desktop on both monitors identically, apart from resolution of course which will be the native resolution of the two devices. This is designed primarily for those who want to use the laptop on the larger monitor. However personally I didn't want that, instead I wanted to use the two monitors as effectively one large desktop instead. This is easily achieved with windows, you simply go into your windows display configuration (found in control panel) and change the selection to 'extend desktop'. This then configures each monitor as a separate desktop display. You can drag an application from one monitor to the other and therefore use a larger display for apps such as Excel where you want more on view, or if you want to view two applications concurrently without having to flip between them. This is typically how I use windows, Excel etc... on the large monitor, Outlook and other apps on the laptop screen, far more efficient. Windows will also remember where an app was last loaded and load it on that screen automatically next time you launch it.Anyway, getting back to the product this is a review of rather than the vagaries of Windows as stated it is simplicity itself to setup and requires no additional power supply or whatever. Build quality of the cable/connectors is very robust and should last for the life of your laptop easily. So if like me you need to connect a laptop that doesn't have an HDMI natively but does have a DisplayPort output this is the easy solution, much cheaper than upgrading your laptop for sure!

Portable and durable with clearer displays
This YIWENTEC Display port lets me connect my laptop to the large screen inside our office conference room. The display port is to help connect desktop or laptop computers with display ports and connect with a monitor or HDTV but it can also connect to projectors. It provides a clear video output of 8K@60Hz or 4K@120Hz to external displays. It's perfect for video presentations or extended monitor display mode.Fortunately, this wire can be compatible with any device with a port that can support it. I honestly love how I can bring my laptop and plug it into the big screen in our conference room or with a projector during presentations. It converts DP to HDMI easily. All in all, this is a well-built wire that can provide clear and crisp displays from computers to larger displays. It's priced fairly compared to similar ports and it looks durable too.

Excellent product
Lots of PCs have Display Port outputs, in addition to HDMI. This is particularly so with smaller form factor types that use integrated / on-board with CPU, graphics. This is an excellent all-round Display Port to HDMI adapter. This is really useful, enabling the utilisation of a second monitor (third if the PC has additional DP which mine does), plus thunderbolt.Utilising as an additional display monitor will realistically mostly be for standard PC purposes, and not HTPC etc. However, it can certainly be used for that purpose, since this adapter is high end (DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 Ultra HD 8K / 8K@60Hz 4K@120Hz – assuming everything else is too of course! This is a superb quality, very well-made adapter, with excellent quality Gold Plated connections, and a strong overall finish. It is of course plug and play, simply plug into your D.P. port, and then a standard HDMI cable between that and your Monitor / TV etc; and you’re good to go.Overall, this is a top quality, useful adapter. A little on the pricey side, but it is highly specced though.I hope that you have found this helpful.

AMD 6800XT, DP1.4 to LG C2, HDMI 2.1.
AMD 6800XT, DP1.4 to LG C2 HDMI 2.1. Unfortunately did not work for me. The converter does look of good quality so was a bit gutted when the picture just kept coming on and dropping out.

Perfect for Gaming
I ordered this to use on my PC as I only had DisplayPort ports left on my GPU and my TV only has HDMI ports so I needed a way to convert from DP to HDMI. This adapter does the job great. You could probably get aa cheaper one if you only need HDMI 2.0 however my TV is 4k120hz so HDMI 2.1 is a must and this adapter gives a great picture. The picture is very crisp and gaming on it is very smooth, there is no noticeable added latency so gaming on this feels just like using a standard HDMI port.Being HDMI 2.1, you also get features such as Dolby Vision which makes watching HDR content much better. The adapter is well built and made of high quality materials, I would recommend.
