Himalayan Style (Architecture, Photography, Travel Book): Shelters & Sanctuaries Hardcover – November 29, 2022

Full disclosure, I originally bought this book to support my friend Thomas Kelly, one of its authors and contributors. Having spent some time in Mongolia with him and his family, I am familiar with his style of story telling and his philosophy as it relates to photography. So, I thought this book would be a nice way to continue that relationship from the comfort of my home, also sharing it with others. As a beautiful coffee table book, it has begun to serve that mission very well and I am very pleased to see another part of the world through a very gifted lens. The images have a very warm and grounded feel, making me feel as if I am there. And the rich captions, as I was hoping, reminded me of travel and got my imagination racing. Over the years, I have also tried to decorate my home in a manner that reflects my own travels and adventures. This book serves as a great inspiration in that regard as well. So, I look at this book as a wonderful collection of photographs, a window into the way of life in a far away land (to me at least), an opportunity to hear a friend’s voice sharing rich stories, and an inspiration for the styling of my own home. In that way, I am even more pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for any of those things in a single volume (even if you don’t know any of the authors personally). It’s a beautiful book that would be a great addition to your well traveled library or home. Enjoy!

This is such an in incredible book. It is taking me on a journey - thoughtfully and respectfully bringing the beauty of spaces and the objects and decorations that inhabit them to life. Every page has something unexpected❤️
