Knife angle sharpening gauge
I wasn't sure what to expect when ordering this but I'm glad I did. Small but very easy to use sharpening your utensils.

It does what it should, but…
This is an interesting little product, and overall I would say it has mostly helped me, so worth the small price. When learning to sharpen a kitchen knife, getting the angle right is one of the hardest bits it seems, and so vital to success. This helps you do that, albeit slowly and with a fair bit of hassle. It magnetically sticks to the knife, and helps you line up a consistent angle. So that bit is great. The problem comes when swapping to the other side of the knife, you have to keep taking this thing off and repositioning it, probably 30 times in an average sharpen. In a way it’s a design flaw I suppose, but I can’t imagine how they would change it.For me I’ll use it some while I learn the angles, but don’t want to get reliant on it either as it makes the process so much slower. So overall, good, and probably worth it - briefly - for a beginner

good quality, great ease of use and value for money
this is a really great piece of kit for anyone getting started or with experience. it helps keep angles sharp and precise with minimal effort. a must have for proffessionals and learners alike. its compact, easy to use, and will help you re-edge almost anything that uses a wetstone.will even work with metal objects being grinded or sanded with grinders or belt sanders but do that at your own risk as the items originally purpose is for wetstones, not beveling.this item is compact and folds, perfect for any campers or survivalists. definitely a must have for preppers and outdoorsman. may pick some more of these up for family at some point.the simplicity alone makes this a valuable ally for when sharpening or re-edging anything metal

Good idea but didn't work well
The idea behind this product is great to help aid your sharpening ability at a good cost. The product was well made and fitted to my larger knives well, though, didn't work very well with smaller knives. Additionally, the angle would slip regularly as it was not lockable, so did not work as well as it could.

Simple device which makes sharpening knives a lot easier
This makes knife sharpening on a wetstone a lot easier if your not a master at this already.Set the angle, attach it to your knife (Its magnetic) and sharpen the knife whilst watching the spirit level bubble.I tried guides and freehand before and could not get as good an edge on my kitchen knives as I can using this. Its simple and effective.Note, not ideal for small knives but standard chefs knives are ideal.

Great tool, poor build quality
This angle guide helped me to level up my sharpening skills from the beginner level. I managed to get consistently sharp knifes with it and can sharpen Japanese knifes without risk of damaging them. The build quality, though, is pretty poor: plastic bits started falling off after ~10 uses. I'd love to have something more sturdy and made of metal, even if more expensive.

instructions are as clear as mud
tried to use it but the instructions were poor so have bought a better one for less money

Useful for checking you are maintaining the correct angle
If you’re looking for something that you can use during the sharpening process to hold the blade at the correct angle, this isn’t it. While it will sit comfortably on a wide blade, inertia will cause the bubble to fly backwards and forwards during the strokes and render it useless for that purpose. However the goal in learning to sharpen accurately and obtain a uniform burr quickly is keeping a consistent angle. A professional sharpener will tell you it’s about muscle memory, and in time you will just know what 15° or 20° feels like. This little gizmo is excellent for checking whether you have the correct angle mid-stroke.I use it at the start of the pass to see if I have set the correct angle by memory (usually I haven’t, but I’m getting better) and then during the pass I sometimes stop and hold the angle, and with my other hand drop the guide onto the blade to see if I’m maintaining the angle I started with. I’m getting better and this thing is helping. I recommend it.
