Paul Mitchell's Super Sculpt Styling Liquid is a good product that helps hold hair in place, but it is not too stiff and unyielding. Supposedly a local store carries it, but I've checked more than once and not found it, so I'm pleased to be able to buy it on Amazon. No noticeable fragrance. Just pour a little in your hand, wipe it on damp hair, comb it through and dry. Good to go!

I have what's called a "serious Kitchen": a head full of crazy hair when it's all brushed out. Janis Joplin ain't got nothing on me. I've been using this Paul Mitchell gel for ions. The result? Before = Brillo pad torn up. After = soft ringlets. It's a runny product. What I do is condition, condition and condition my hair. Wait. The Paul Mitchell goes on last. Wrap in a towel or one of those hair-drying turban things. Never use a dryer, and twist as it dries. If you have curly/kinky/kitchen hair, this product is the only one that beats the humidity of the coastal American south. Also, in between washes (once a week) and conditioning (2x a week), you can take a quarter-size smidgen of this product to tame the frizz from the humidity. Depending on how long your hair is, the only caveat is that (for me, anyway -- my hair is long & coarse) it can take up to a day to fully dry. And never go to bed with a wet head! If you can sleep, you'll need to get a pillow protector.

This product is perfect for me for a light touch to keep my hair in place all day. The sprayers of late date have degraded and do not cast a spray, but instead a jet. I've worked around it ... but not happily. Still love the product.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:This work so well on my curly hair. What I love most is that it doesn’t leave me with stiff/sticky hair. It’s very easy to style with this product.

I used Paul Mitchell's Styling Glaze for several years, and this is the same product, but with a different name.. I do not need to use a lot to get a good hold. Before I blow dry my hair, I put about a quarter size of the gel in my palm, rub my hands together and then run it through my damp (not overly wet) hair, focusing on the roots. Unlike the many other products I have tried, this glaze does not weigh my hair down or cause any flakiness, and it adds shine. I use a bit extra on the top of my head for added height. You can also put it on damp hair, arrange it, let it thoroughly air dry, and then comb through your hair. It does a nice job on curly hair. When you use it this way, your hair feels a little crunchy at first, but that totally disappears when you comb or brush. I hope the company never discontinues it!
