Better security and current technology - May affect your older devices
Short version: Yes, I definitely recommend this router. The setup was nearly automatic, but with advanced configuration available. Note: the increased security protocols may affect older devices.Upgrading a router every few years is essential for the safety of your network and devices. Upgrading from a state-of-the-art (in 2016) router, I took the extra precaution of changing the network name (SSID) and password instead of keeping the SSID/password (from 8 years ago). This meant changing networks on every computer, tablet, smartphone, TV, Echo DOT, and home automation device. It is a fair amount of work, but increases the security of the network. It also uncovers hidden exposures. The router's default security is the current WPA2/WPA3, along with the ability to create up to 4 SSIDs (to segment user & network traffic) and much more. However, a 2012 (TV streaming device) I still used had trouble connecting. Finally, I discovered that with its security of only WPA/WPA2, plus earlier WEP & TKIP, it could not log onto the network, thus protecting my network from potential "old security feature" exposures. So yes, I definitely recommend this router, and suggest using the setup as a way to review your current devices and exposures.

Privacy policies don't help people if companies just lie about what they are doing
I've had this for maybe a year and still haven't gotten any wifi 7 devices to make use of this device. I did go try to upgrade my existing computers, but it seems that the only modems for sale had to be used with Intel processors. After a recent security scan I also found it contained remote code execution vulnerability: CVE-2018-19052 from using a lighttpd web server from 2018...seems a little weird since it's open source and doesn't require much from them to do an update. The configuration settings seem really barebone and for you to access advanced settings you need to click the underline CA link at the bottom of the routers webpage which most likely adds a certificate to you certificate store to more than likely open you up to more vulnerabilities. Also, the terms of service aren't properly linked so they actually take you to nowhere and really have nothing you can read without that link working properly. Brought this up on reddit and from my recollection, they admitted there might be a problem. From my understanding this means they aren't binding (according to one case I read, although this might have changed by newer case law as I don't keep up with civil common law as I'm not a lawyer).

Great Connection
This mesh wifi system (Linksys Velop Pro 7) is amazingly fast. Fast enough that you can actually see the speed of your applications loading. The setup is easy once you download the Linksys app. It walks you through the setup process step by step. I have yet to notice ANY deadspots in my home where this is weak or no connectivity. If you're looking to add some spice to your WiFi at home or work, you should consider this option for fast, reliable connections.

Not Compatible With Previous Velop Nodes
I've been using the Velop mesh system since the very first Velop Mesh nodes and they have been awesome. They have also always been cross-compatible. I buy the newest version replace the parent node first and over time replace the child nodes as well. Currently, I'm on the Velop Atlas Max6E, they are awesome. I have 5 nodes on the network and I was excited to try Velop 7 to see how much more I could squeeze out of the network. I bought the first one, reset my entire network, all the nodes, set up the new 7 Parent node, then set up my first child, and (not compatible) I'm like man, I wish they would have led with that information!I then reset my original parent node and went through all of my child nodes to get them set up again as well. Then just out of curiosity try and add the new velop 7 as a child node and it is not compatible that way either so if you're like me and wanna upgrade the network little by little forget about it!You have to go all in on the new 7 series. I suppose that's a decent "profit" angle. I never did get a chance to test out the new 7 but I'm sure it works great, they all typically do. The next day I jumped on the Linksys support website and initiated chat support to see if they were going to release a firmware update for compatibility at some point shortly so I could hang on to the new node. They confirmed that the new nodes are not compatible nor will they ever be completely different architecture.Just wanted to let anyone interested know to save you a few hours of fun in the Linksys app.

great upgrade
This was a great upgrade from my previous AX5300 mesh router. The problem I needed to solve was the number of WiFi devices in our smart home that overwhelmed the older router. Everything is up and running and the smart home responses are notably snappy compared to before.

Switched to Linksys now I cant wait to switch to my old set up
The WiFi keeps dropping! Its been an ongoing nightmare. I switched thinking it will be an upgrade but I cant even keep my laptop on the network and have to hot spot it from my phone otherwise my connection will cut off and have to re-connect. Same for TV/Game Console etc.

Unreliable Connection & Terrible Signal – Total Waste of Money!
AWFUL. If I could return this, I would. The connection keeps dropping constantly—at least 10 to 20 times per day—to the point that it’s unusable. We tried everything, but the result is always the same: you lose internet connectivity while staying connected to the network. The only way to fix it is to turn the Wi-Fi on and off on the device. Also, the signal range is really bad. I live in a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment, and the router is located at the center, but the signal drops at the edges.I paid over $250 for this garbage—never again with this brand.
