Quick install, works great, exactly as expected
I have read that other people have had problems getting this software installed. I'm not sure what their issue is. Within a second of ordering this and completing the checkout, I got a link to download the software and the activation code. I followed the link, downloaded the installer, and ran the install tool. I think the process took 5 minutes at the most.I have bought a similar product on Amazon Marketplace before. It involved several non-intuitive steps and gave me the impression that I might be doing something illegal. This product appears to be directly from Microsoft, but hosted by Amazon. All of the steps gave me the impression that I was totally above board and totally legal.I am a "home" user. To me, that means that on occasion, I need to create an excel spreadsheet or write a letter or something. I could probably use one of the free office suites, but I use some of the functionality that is only in excel. But I don't feel that my use case could justify buying the "Pro" version. As far as I can tell, the home version has all the features that I need and at a fraction of the cost. This is certainly a good value for me.

Worked for me - easy install - followed others recommendations
It took me more time to read the reviews than it did to install. Make sure you have a working Microsoft account before purchasing/beginning would be my biggest recommendation. From there, I simply purchased, then followed the links within my Amazon account to install the download. Yes, initially, the software does not install on your computer. Instead, it downloads an installer. You must click the download to initiate the installation on your computer. Did that, agreed to all the T&C, opened up Excel, and yes, it gave me the message that I needed to buy Microsoft 365 before I could create or edit anything. I clicked on it, per advice from another reviewer, and it takes you to your Microsoft account sign-in, where there is an option that says "already purchased" - click that. Once you enter your email, you're up and running! Apple "Numbers" was KILLING me after being an Excel user my whole life. I couldn't stand it any longer (made the switch from PC to Mac about a year ago) and I know I will be way less frustrated since I know Excel like the back of my hand. Recommend!

How To Get Office Running After Install
I have used Microsoft Office on a Mac for years and love it. However, as others have said, to get Office 2024 working was a nightmare.I called tech support yesterday 3 times and was on hold for a total of over 4 hours. I was accidentally disconnected twice after holding for over an hour each time and never spoke to a technical support person.I did finally figure out on my own how to get the software up and running and wanted to share. As others have said, set up a Microsoft account if you do not have one and sign in before you make your purchase.Install went smoothy for me and since others have covered that topic, I will just cover after the install.None of the applications worked after the install.I will share an example of the fix with Word, but this process will need to be done with Excel, One Note and PowerPoint.I opened Word and clicked “Word” in the upper left corner of my Mac.From the pull down I selected “About Microsoft Word.”On the window that pops up it said “License: Not Activated”I then selected “More Info.”From that pop up window I selected “Refresh License.”This will take you to your Microsoft account to sign in.I then got an error code that said “Could Not Refresh License Error Code 44.”Thinking well that was a waste of time, I went on to do other things.About 30 minutes later I thought I would try again and to my surprise instead of the “About Microsoft Word” window saying “License: Not Activated” it said License: Office Home 2024 and everything was working perfectly.Evidentially it takes a few minutes to actually refresh the license.Hope this is helpful and saves someone else the frustration and aggravation I experienced over getting Microsoft Office Home 2024 working.

MS Office
Good update to my 2003 MS Office. There were some major changes that took a while to get used to. In fact I am still learning how to easily get around the software. I have seen some good improvements so far.

If your hardware fails, MS won't transfer license
Don't buy this unless you are 110% sure that the device that you intend to download it to (redeem the license) will not ever fail. I purchased and redeemed MS 2024 Home Office in Nov 2024, my laptop died in-or-around January 2025. Said device is completed dead, i.e., I can't open it right up and jump through the hoops required to deactivate the license in order to transfer it to another device. I couldn't download MS Home office 2024 b/c I got a message that it (the software I purchased) was being used on another device. It had been downloaded to another device, it was not being used on same for obvious reason. I called MS believing that there was an easy resolution, instead and in short they said...the license code is for one computer and since you can't open your dead computer...tough luck, all you can do is repurchase. MS COULD simply issue a new license code, but they won't. I asked for the Microsoft's policy number that states, in writing, that, in the event of hardware failure, the purchaser is screwed, and Microsoft's response was there is none, but the product's description itself acts as said policy because it states, "one device." I find this immoral, to say the least.
