Works great in a safe. It protects from moisture damaging guns and rifles! Quality is good and I love how easy it is to recharge the unit!

Very easy to use and seems to work well. It does seem to “fill up” very quickly so you might need a second one for a larger safe.

Its hard to truly assess the performance of a product like this because you dont know if your guns are free from rust and deterioration because that's just the nature and condition they are living in during storage, or if its because this product is keeping that from what would otherwise be happening.I do see the beads change color over time so I guess its working. And my guns dont have rust on them, but they are also stored in a fireproof bank safe with little to no air. When recharging the beads, the product should auto shutoff when the beads are fully dry. That doesnt happen. Ive inadvertently forgotten I was recharging it and left it plugged in overnight. Didnt seem to damage things but the unit was indeed warm.

The dehumidifier works as it should and dries out again when plugged. I recently purchased another one so I can swap them out as needed. They do a satisfactory job!

Its a novel design that I thought might be a good add to my safe. Its embarrassingly poor quality for a Hornady branded product.Basically they fill the thing with absorbent beads through a small hole in the back. But it doesn't seal well so when you move the thing more than an inch it just coughs up the tiny beads. Every time you plug it in to dry it out it drops more and more beads everywhere. I took it apart to see if I could find a way to stop the leak, but its just a design flaw. And you cant put it back together once its apart so plan to throw it out if you try.Its also not great at "recharging" the beads. I had it plugged in for 30 hours last time and it was still showing wet on the indicator window. When i took it apart about 80% of the beads were recharged but none of the ones near the window. So you just would have to plug it in for 2 days at a time and then assume its mostly recharged. Again, pretty poor design.Hornady should take their name off this product or make something better/worthy of their brand.
